Rawdon thanks Emma for sending a glass vasee to Mrs [Mummins?]. He wrote to Evelyn last week and told her how miserable they are there and since then the matters have not improved. The water keeps rising and soon the tents his men sleep in will be in danger of flooding. The reports say they have had 45 inches of rain. He had the fever last Thursday, which he had not expereienced since 1879, but feels better already. He has renewed the lease for the Rectory for a further three years. The death of Sir John Hudson has been announced, which is a great loss to the Pioneers and he feels sorry for Lady Hudson and their family.
