Correspondence from Rawdon Reilly to his sister Emma Pinckney nee Reilly, 3 September 1893
The regiment is cheerful at the moment due to the much improved weather they have been having. They have been out shooting snipe. Rawdon has received news that the horse he has drawn in the St Leger Sweep is the favourite to win. The regiment will be moving soon to a new location. There has been a disgraceful scene in the House of Commons and Rawdon read about the trial of the directors of the Himalayan Bank in the Pioneer [Press].
