This volume contains the minutes of the Building & Development Committee, from 1945 to 1949.
This committee was directly responsible for the administration of the Legion’s construction projects and physical assets. These include office buildings, hostels for ex-servicemen and their families, accommodation for staff and management of empty plots - or overseeing sub-committees who took on the work.
Of particular significance is the construction of British Legion Park in Langata, a residential community which was set up as a hostel to support ex-servicemen and their families. The Park appears to be one of the organisation's most important assets.
Also included are discussions on the establishment of the Nairobi and Mombasa branches of the British Legion, as well as arrangements for events such as a field hockey match for Asian Ex-Servicemen.
