Hugo van Lawick was a Dutch wildlife photographer living in Tanzania, with whom EH collaborated on a book about the Serengeti national park. She spent a month in 1981 working with van Lawick in Arusha, Lake Manyara, the Ngorogoro crater and Olduvai gorge, and stayed in his camp overlooking Lake Ndutu. The resulting book, Last Days in Eden, was published in 1984. The images in this series depict wild animals including flamingoes at Crater Lake (Ngorogoro), elephants, lions, giraffes, vultures, wildebeeste, buffalo and zebras, the landscape, sunsets and sand dunes. There are several pictures of Hugo van Lawick and his camp, including a number where he is taking photographs. The slides have been annotated on reverse by EH, although she has wrongly dated them to 1982. The slides at 1995/076/2/7 complete this series.
