The regiment only has 7 weeks in their current location until they move again. Rawdon is sad to leave as it is simply charming in this place. He has heard from Edith Olive that Noel intends to try for Wellington school. He received a card from Mrs E Pinckard Bryant informing him of the old Colonel's death, and he suggests calling on her. They have 16 days march ahead of them, followed by 7 days by river steamer, then rail and 12 days voyage round to Bombay (Mumbai). He has started his application for leave for next May as the rules are going to change and he intends to take as much leave as he can.
