This collection consists of slides, negatives and photographs taken by Mary Hill as part of her work for the World Bank in the 1960s. Projects covered are:
Mahindra Ugine Steel company (India), Marala Barrage, Balloki-Suleimanke Link Canal, Ravi River, Lyallpur Agricultural University, Packages Ltd (West Pakistan), Beas River, Tubewells, Sone Irrigation (India), Inland Water Transportation Authority (East Pakistan/Bangladesh), Polpitya Power station and other projects (Ceylon/Sri Lanka), Port expansion (Singapore).
Projects in Malaysia are:
Muda Dam, Malayawata Steel Mill, Prai Power station, and Jengka Triangle project

Mary Hill studied photography whilst working for the American Army in Heidelberg, Germany (1946-55). She emigrated to the United States in 1959, continued her studies in photography, and received some commissions. She later worked for the World Bank and undertook a number of photographic assignments, including her trips to India and South-East Asia represented in this collection. This freelance posting continued until her retirement in 1986 when she moved back to England.
