This collection consists of slides, negatives and photographs taken by Mary Hill as part of her work for the World Bank in the 1960s. Projects covered are:
Mahindra Ugine Steel company (India), Marala Barrage, Balloki-Suleimanke Link Canal, Ravi River, Lyallpur Agricultural University, Packages Ltd (West Pakistan), Beas River, Tubewells, Sone Irrigation (India), Inland Water Transportation Authority (East Pakistan), Polpitya Power station and other projects (Ceylon), Port expansion (Singapore).
Projects in Malaysia are:
Muda Dam, Malayawata Steel Mill, Prai Power station, and Jengka Triangle project

Mary Hill studied photography whilst working for the American Army in Heidelberg, Germany (1946-55). She emigrated to the United States in 1959, continued her studies in photography, and received some commissions. She later worked for the World Bank and undertook a number of photographic assignments, including her trips to India and South-East Asia represented in this collection. This freelance posting continued until her retirement in 1986 when she moved back to England.
