Description
  • Photographs taken by Anthony Rees recording his time journeying to and travelling around East Africa. These reflect his work in the colonial education service in Kenya, and his travels with his family. Of particular note are the photographs of local schools, the boy scouts movement, and images taken at Mackinnon Road Detention Centre during Operation Anvil against the Mau Mau, where Rees was brought in to help oversee the prisoners.
