This collection includes 7 films taken by Leeds during his time in the Gold Coast. It also includes his autobiography which recounts his experiences during WW2 and his work as an Agricultural Officer in the 1950s.
Allen Leeds was born in 1916 and brought up in Ross-on-Wye. He joined the colonial service on leaving college and was posted to the Gold Coast. On the outbreak of war, he joined the Royal West African Frontier Force, then worked as an Agricultural Officer during the 1940s and 1950s. He was mainly involved with the cocoa industry.
