Description
  • The Dar es Salaam Cine Club was formed around 1956 with the intention of producing a film of life in Dar es Salaam, with individual members shooting different sequences that would then be assembled and edited. Unfortunately the project was never completed - some members left Tanganyika (now part of Tanzania) prior to the country attaining independence in 1961, taking their filmed sequences with them. This film represents the scenes shot by the donor Ray Alley, intended to form part of the whole.
