These films are mainly taken by Charles Roach during his time in the Seychelles, showing domestic and local scenes. There is some footage taken during his chaplaincy in Iraq including shots of Faisal II as a teenager.
The Venerable Charles Roach was born in 1908, and died at the age of 94 in 2003. He ministered in Iraq during 1939 to 1945, then later moved to the Seychelles where he was Archdeacon from 1951 to 1955. The films cover these periods in his life. He later worked in Croydon and retired to Cornwall.
