Description
The footage shows Victoria Falls and activities in the surrounding areas. These activities include an aeroplane flying, mining, a country fair, a bike ride, tug of war and various shots of produce for sale.
Detailed description
(00.00 to 07.22) Intertitle: Brinton Picture. Extended sequence with various shots of Victoria Falls and the immediate surroundings as well as some shots of people walking near the falls, watching them and of local wildlife.
(07.23 to 09.35) Sequence dealing with a three engine passenger aircraft, a Junkers Ju 52 (nicknamed Iron Annie) which carries on its side the painted name Sir John Craddock. Shots of the aircraft on the ground at a military airfield with guard sentry patrolling. There are shots of the aircraft crew posing with the aircraft behind them and of African crew refuelling the plane. There is a sequence filmed from onboard the aircraft showing the mining areas of Zambia and also wildlife in the Game Park. Also shots taken inside the aircraft showing the crew and passengers having a celebratory drink
(09.35 to 09.57) A variety of wide shots of the peak of Mount Kenya.
(9.57 to 10.33) Various shots of colourful garden with walking line of ducks. This is followed by a shot of a waterfall cascading into a gorge.
(10.34 to 10.40) Large single ox on a plateau with mountains behind.
(10.40 to 10.56) A young European woman in military uniform talks to two men in suits on a rooftop. One of the men hands the woman a camera.
(10.58 to 12.32) Victoria Falls and surrounding countryside and towns. Shot from cabin window of a aeroplane.
(12.32 to 15.51) This section consists of a sequence of shots from a country fair. There are a mixed group of spectators, both African and European. Opening speech by middle aged male, with shots of African men doing a tug of war, racing bikes, European men drinking beer and playing tombola, African women looking after white children, various food and produce stands.
