Oddments: Coal Miners, Horse Racing and Architecture, 1940-41
2008/078/031
This film is comprised of various different clips. The first is centred on a group of coal miners, shot in and around the quarry. Next, a horse racing display and its ceremony/parade in which the guards are dressed in a variety of British royal dress, performing to a British audience. Following this, there are a series of shots of architecture, perhaps linked through their association with the Mughal Empire, and the film ends with footage at a British-owned estate with Indian servants fetching goods for the owner.
