Artwork preparation - photographs used by Veevers for designing posters, 1930s
2018/007/1
The 23 photographs in this series were used by Veevers for his poster designs, and help to demonstrate how he worked. The figures and buildings in many of the photographs have been traced around, some have pencil shading (ready for tracing), and others have pencilled grid markings. Many of the photographs have drawing pin holes in the corners suggesting that Veevers hung these when he was working on his posters. There are also paint marks on some, again suggesting that Veevers was handling these images whilst in the process of painting posters.
